Every single person on this earth was made by God. Every single person on this earth can trace his lineage back to Noah and his wife and further back to Adam and Eve. We are all related.
He placed us here on purpose. We are all part of the "times before appointed," God's plan. We are each gifted differently. We are each part of a giant puzzle. We are designed to fit in a particular place. We are not here for ourselves, we are here for each other. He created us to love one another and to love Him. He created us out of love. It really is as simple as that.
Notice the choice we have. We can seek Him if we "might feel after Him." If we feel like it we can seek Him. He isn't going to force us. Then, I love this part, we will find Him, yet He isn't far from any of us. We feel like we've discovered a new thing when we "find" God. I remember when I first got saved how I felt like I had found something that had been buried for a long time. I wanted to share with everyone because I felt like I, personally, had discovered God. One day I thought it through and realized that, since the beginning of time, there was always someone who loved God and had a close relationship with Him.
I actually felt like God had been kept a secret from me. Well, in a way, He had. I got saved in spite of the church I was attending. I guess they didn't want to offend anyone so they only touched on mild topics that seemed to center around the "good people" God wanted us to be. There never was an altar call.
Acts 17 goes on to say a few more interesting and important things. In God we live and move and have our being. It is only because He gave us life that we exist.
We are His children. He is our Father. He is not something we can create, such as a statue. He is not someone we can control. We have, as a general rule, tried to contain God in a box as we would a precious gem. We stand back and admire Him and worship Him from a distance. He isn't gold or silver or gems. He is God, our Father. He is life and love. He wants to interact with us every minute of every day. He wants to communicate with us. He wants us to seek to become closer to Him.
It says he winked at this ignorance, but no longer. If he demanded repentance back in the times of the first apostles, what do you think He demands now? Look how much farther we, as a world, have drawn away from Him. Look at how He and His Word are treated. Look how Jesus' name is feared and rejected.
Do you feel the Holy Spirit drawing you to a closer relationship with God? Do you? Have you been postponing it because you are too busy? Have you been pushing those urges away? Give in. Quit fighting and struggling. When He calls, try answering. When He nudges you, embrace Him. Today is the day of new beginnings. Don't wait until New Year's Eve to make this decision. TODAY is the day of new beginnings. Don't wait until you have more time.
TODAY IS THE DAY OF NEW BEGINNINGS!
